Il 2022 è appena finito, ma ognuno di noi (o quasi) sta già pensando alle prossime Bank Holidays per non andare a lavorare. E il 2023 non sembra male, perchè molti di essi cadono di Lunedì. Insomma molti weekend lunghi!
Forse non tutti sanno che la Bank Holiday in Gran Bretagna è nata come giornata di festa per i lavoratori delle banche, i quali non andavano a lavorare. Successivamente le festività di cui godevano i bancari vennero allargate anche agli altri lavoratori, ad eccezione di quelli dei settori essenziali. Oggi a definire le festività di cui possiamo godere è il "Banking and Financial Dealings Act 1971", in cui sono contenute le feste nazionali del Regno Unito. Ogni anno attraverso un annuncio reale le Bank Holidays vengono definite e anche spostate in caso dovessero coincidere con un giorno del weekend.
Ecco allora che nel 2023 sono state già definite le date in cui staremo a casa dal lavoro:
Venerdì 7 Aprile, Good Friday
Lunedì 10 Aprile, Lunedì di Pasqua
Lunedì 1 Maggio, Early May Bank Holiday
Lunedì 8 Maggio, Bank Holiday per l'incoronazione di Re Carlo III
Lunedì 29 Maggio, Spring Bank Holiday
Lunedì 28 Agosto, Summer Bank Holiday
Lunedì 25 Dicembre, Natale
Martedì 26 Dicembre, Boxing Day

2023: BANK HOLIDAYS OF THE YEAR
2022 is just over, but each of us (or almost) is already thinking about the next Bank Holidays not to go to work. And 2023 does not look bad, because many of them fall on Monday. In short, many long weekends!
Perhaps not everyone knows that the Bank Holiday in Britain was born as a day of celebration for the bank workers, who did not go to work. Subsequently, Bank Holidays were extended to other workers, with the exception of those in key sectors. Today, the festivities we can enjoy are defined by the "Banking and Financial Dealings Act 1971", which contains the UK national holidays. Every year through a real announcement the Bank Holidays are defined and even moved in case they coincide with a weekend day.
So in 2023 the dates on which we will stay at home from work are already defined:
Monday 2 January, New Year’s Day
Friday 7th April, Good Friday
Monday 10 April, Easter Monday
Monday 1 May, Early May Bank Holiday
Monday 8 May, Bank Holiday for the coronation of King Charles III
Monday 29 May, Spring Bank Holiday
Monday 28 August, Summer Bank Holiday
Monday 25 December, Christmas Day
Tuesday 26 December, Boxing Day
