BFI: oggi la première di "Know Your Place"
Oggi al BFI London Film Festival ci sarà la première del tanto atteso "Know Your Place", film scritto, prodotto e diretto dalla regista Statunitense di origini Iraniane Zia Mohajerjasbi. L'evento è riservato alla stampa e agli addetti del mondo del Cinema, ma nei prossimi giorni sono previste repliche per il pubblico.
Il BFI stupisce per la capacità di valorizzare film interessanti, realizzati da registi che hanno davvero qualcosa da raccontare, come Zia Mohajerjasbi. La regista, cresciuta a Seattle, chiaramente in quest'opera riversa un po' del proprio mondo e delle proprie intime emozioni. La trama racconta di un ragazzo Americano eritreo di 15 anni che vive a Seattle, che deve spedire una valigia ad un familiare malato nella Patria dei suoi genitori. Per farlo deve attraversare la Città, ma sul suo percorso incontrerà tutta una serie di ostacoli, anche esistenziali, che lo rallenteranno.
"Know Your Place" è un film che parla di responsabilità nei confronti della Famiglia, di Identità personale e di ciò che può essere definito "casa". La regista, la più giovane vincitrice di sempre del Stranger Genius Award di Seattle, ha voluto raccontare in qualche modo la sua Seattle, in un film che è "sia lettera d'amore che un lamento". L'obiettivo è stato quello di rappresentare cos'era, cos'è e cosa sarà Seattle, la sua casa.
La proiezione ha suscitato la curiosità di molti, visto il tenore esistenziale del lavoro di Mohajerjasbi. Oggi toccherà a stampa e operatori del settore cinematografico, presso il Picturehouse Central, ma sono già state diffuse le date delle proiezioni pubbliche:
Giovedì 13 Ottobre, ore 20:30 all'ICA, Screen 1;
Venerdì 14 Ottobre, ore 20:30 al Curzon Soho Cinema, Screen 2;
Venerdì 14 Ottobre, ore 20:45 al Curzon Soho Cinema, Screen 3.

BFI: TODAY THE PREMIERE OF "KNOW YOUR PLACE"
Today at the BFI London Film Festival there will be the premiere of the long-awaited "Know Your Place", a film written, produced and directed by the American director of Iranian origins Zia Mohajerjasbi. The event is reserved for the press and the industry, but in the coming days there will be replicas for the public.
The BFI impresses with its ability to enhance interesting films, made by directors who really have something to tell, like Zia Mohajerjasbi. The director, who grew up in Seattle, clearly pours a bit of her own world and her own intimate emotions into this work. The plot tells of a 15-year-old Eritrean American boy living in Seattle, who has to send a suitcase to a sick family member in his parents' homeland. To do this he must cross the City, but in his path he will encounter a series of obstacles, even existential, that will slow him down.
"Know Your Place" is a film about responsibility towards the Family, personal Identity and what can be called "home". The director, the youngest ever winner of the Stranger Genius Award in Seattle, wanted to somehow tell her version of Seattle, in a film that is "both a love letter and a lament". The goal was to represent what it was, what it is and what Seattle, its home, will be.
The screening aroused the curiosity of many, given the existential tenor of Mohajerjasbi’s work. Today it will be the turn of the press and industry, at the Picturehouse Central, but the dates of the public screenings have already been released:

Friday, October 14, 8:45 pm at Curzon Soho Cinema, Screen 3.
