Carlo III: si è appena conclusa la cerimonia di proclamazione
La cerimonia della proclamazione di Carlo III si è appena conclusa. Si è aperta con l'annuncio della morte della Regina Elisabetta II. Il Lord President Penny Mordaunt ha dichiarato: "Miei signori, è mio triste dovere informarvi che Sua Graziosissima Maestà, la Regina Elisabetta II, è morta Giovedì 8 Settembre 2022, al Castello di Balmoral".
Durante l'Accession Council, tutti i membri hanno dovuto firmare la proclamazione: i primi a firmare sono stati il Principe di Galles William e la Regina Consorte Camilla. Penny Mordaunt poi ha letto gli otto ordini del Consiglio che hanno dato inizio alla cerimonia formale:
"Uno, ordinare che il proclama sia stampato e pubblicato in supplementi specializzati nelle Gazzette di Londra, Edimburgo e Belfast.
Due, incaricare il Lord Cancelliere di apporre il grande sigillo alla proclamazione di Sua Maestà, Re Carlo III.
Tre, dirigere i Re, gli Araldi e gli inseguitori d'armi alla corte di St James per proclamare Sua Maestà il Re Carlo III.
Quattro, dirigere il Lord Mayor the court of alderman and commons of London a partecipare al Royal Exchange per proclamare Sua Maestà il Re Carlo III.
Cinque, dire al Segretario di Stato per la Difesa di Sua Maestà di dare indicazioni per sparare ad Hyde Park non appena Sua Maestà sarà proclamata.
Sei, dire al conestabile della Torre di Sua Maestà di Londra di dare indicazioni per sparare dalla Torre di Londra non appena Sua Maestà sarà proclamata.
Sette, incaricare il Segretario di Stato di Sua Maestà per la Scozia di far pubblicare in Scozia la proclamazione di Sua Maestà il Re Carlo III.
Otto, ordinare al Cancelliere del Consiglio di emettere lettere circolari per far proclamare Sua Maestà il re Carlo III".
Dopo la conclusione della prima parte dell'Accession Council i membri hanno atteso qualche minuto prima di trasferirsi nella sala del trono, dove Re Carlo III ha fatto il discorso di proclamazione e lo Scottish Oath (il giuramento scozzese).
Il nuovo Re ha detto che: "È mio più doloroso dovere annunciarvi la morte della mia amata madre, la Regina. So quanto profondamente voi, l'intera Nazione, e credo di poter dire il mondo intero, siete vicini a me per la perdita irreparabile che tutti abbiamo sofferto. È la più grande consolazione per me sapere della vicinanza espressa da tanti a mia sorella e ai miei fratelli, e che un affetto e un sostegno così travolgenti dovrebbero essere estesi a tutta la nostra famiglia. A tutti noi come famiglia, come a questo Regno, e alla più ampia famiglia di Nazioni di cui fa parte, mia madre ha dato un esempio di amore per tutta la vita e di servizio disinteressato. Il Regno di mia madre è stato ineguagliabile nella sua durata, nella sua dedizione e nella sua devozione. Anche se siamo addolorati, rendiamo grazie per questa vita così fedele". Ha anche detto che vuole dedicare ciò che rimane della sua vita a questo nuovo ruolo. Dopo di che ha letto il giuramento scozzese e ha firmato le due copie di esso.
Alla fine del discorso del Re, il Lord President ha chiuso la seconda parte della cerimonia dicendo che un proclama nominerà il giorno del funerale della Regina come giorno festivo nel Regno Unito, così Re Carlo III ha firmato la proclamazione del giorno festivo.

CHARLES III: THE CEREMONY OF PROCLAMATION JUST ENDED
The ceremony of the Proclamation of Charles III just ended. It has opened with the announcement of the death of Queen Elizabeth II. The Lord President of the Council Penny Mordaunt declared: "My lords, it is my sad duty to inform you that Her Most Gracious Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, has passed away on Thursday the 8th of September 2022, at Balmoral Castle".
During the Accession Council, all the members had to sign the proclamation: the first to sign were the Prince of Wales William and Queen Consort Camilla. Penny Mordaunt then read the eight orders of the Council which begun the formal ceremony:
"One, ordering the proclamation to be printed and published in specialist supplements in the London, Edinburgh and Belfast Gazettes.
Two, directing the Lord Chancellor to affix the great seal to the proclamation proclaiming His Majesty, King Charles III.
Three, directing the Kings, Heralds and pursuivants of arms to attend at the court of St James to proclaim His Majesty King Charles III.
Four, directing the Lord Mayor the court of alderman and commons of London to attend at the Royal Exchange to proclaim His Majesty King Charles III."
Five, directing His Majesty's Secretary of State for Defence to give directions for the firing of guns at Hyde Park as soon as His Majesty is proclaimed.
Six, directing the constable of His Majesty's Tower of London to give directions for the firing of guns at the Tower of London as soon as His Majesty is proclaimed.
Seven, directing His Majesty's Secretary of State for Scotland to cause the proclamation for proclaiming His Majesty King Charles III to be published in Scotland.
Eight, directing the clerk of the Council to issue circular letters for causing His Majesty King Charles III to be proclaimed".
After the conclusion of the first part of the Accession Council the members waited before moving to the throne room, where King Charles III made the Proclamation Speech and the Scottish Oath.
The new King said: "It is my most sorrowful duty to announce to you the death of my beloved mother, the Queen. I know how deeply you, the entire nation, and I think I may say the whole world, sympathise with me in the irreparable loss we all suffered. It is the greatest consolation to me to know of the sympathy expressed by so many to my sister and brothers, and that such overwhelming affection and support should be extended to our whole family.To all of us as a family as to this kingdom, and the wider family of nations of which it is a part, my mother gave an example of lifelong love and of selfless service. My mother's reign was unequalled in its duration, its dedication and its devotion. Even as we grieve, we give thanks for this most faithful life". He also said he wants to dedicate what remains of his life to this new role. After that he read the Oath and signed the two copies of it.
At the end of the speech of the King, the Lord President of the Council closed the second part of the ceremony saying that a proclamation will appoint the day of the Queen's funeral as a bank holiday in United Kingdom, so King Charles III signed the proclamation of the bank holiday.
