Governo: esteso il limite tariffario dei biglietti degli autobus a 2 sterline

Milioni di persone che utilizzano gli autobus potranno ancora godere degli sconti sui prezzi dei biglietti. A confermarlo è stato il Governo, che, attraverso il Segretario ai Trasporti Mark Harper, ha annunciato lo stanziamento di 300 milioni di sterline per migliorare i servizi di trasporto su ruote e di altro 200 milioni per contenere i prezzi delle tratte di autobus più frequentate dai pendolari.
Nel concreto i biglietti singoli degli autobus che operano fuori Londra costeranno al massimo 2 sterline fino alla fine di Ottobre 2023. Successivamente il costo salirà a 2,50 sterline, fino al 30 Novembre 2024, quando il Governo rivedrà nuovamente le tariffe degli autobus. L'obiettivo è fare il più possibile per aiutare le persone a combattere contro il costo della vita. L'Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR), inoltre, ha stimato che l'inflazione si dimezzerà entro la fine del 2023 e che quindi l'aumento delle tariffe a 2,50 sterline non causerà disagi.
Durante la Pandemia l'utilizzo degli autobus è sceso del 10%, al momento l'utilizzo è tornato all'85/90% rispetto al periodo pre-pandemico. Il limite tariffario punta proprio a incoraggiare le persone a utilizzare nuovamente gli autobus, anche per contribuire a ridurre traffico ed emissioni.

GOVERNMENT: EXTENDED £2 BUS TICKET PRICE LIMIT
Millions of people using buses will still enjoy discounts on ticket prices. This was confirmed by the Government, which, through Secretary for Transport Mark Harper, has announced the allocation of £ 300 million to improve road transport services and £ 200 million to curb the prices of the busiest bus routes for commuters.
In practice, individual bus tickets operating outside London will cost a maximum of £ 2 until the end of October 2023. Then the cost will rise to £ 2.50, until November 30 2024, when the Government will again review the prices of bus fares.
