Regno Unito, aeroporti: nel 2024 verranno abolite le restrizioni sul trasporto di liquidi
Entro il 2024 gli aeroporti del Regno Unito aboliranno il divieto di trasportare liquidi che superino i 100 ml. I passeggeri potranno quindi portare nel loro bagaglio a mano una moltitudine di oggetti ad oggi vietati.
Nuove regole entreranno in vigore, permettendo così ai viaggiatori di trasportare bevande, trucchi e liquidi di qualsiasi dimensione nel proprio bagaglio a mano per la prima volta in 16 anni. Questo allentamento delle restrizioni sarà permesso grazie all'introduzione di nuovi scanner, che consentiranno alla sicurezza aeroportuale di ispezionare i bagagli attraverso immagini 3D. Un metodo molto più veloce che ridurrebbe anche i tempi di attesa ai controlli di sicurezza.
La nuova tecnologia si sta già sperimentando a Heathrow e Gatwick e dovrebbe essere applicata nei maggiori aeroporti del Regno Unito entro la metà del 2024. Con i nuovi scanner i viaggiatori non dovranno più inserire liquidi in contenitori di plastica trasparente. Chiaramente si dovrà attendere l'entrata in vigore del provvedimento e fino a quel momento vige la norma attuale in materia di liquidi.
Nonostante la rimozione di questo divieto, rimarranno in vigore alcune restrizioni sul bagaglio a mano, ad esempio il divieto di trasportare oggetti appuntiti e accendini.

UK, AIRPORTS: IN 2024 RESTRICTIONS ON LIQUID TRANSPORT WILL BE LIFTED
By 2024, UK airports will lift the ban on transporting liquids in excess of 100 ml. Passengers will then be able to carry in their hand baggage a multitude of items currently prohibited.
New rules will come into force, allowing travelers to carry drinks, make-up and liquids of any size in their carry-on luggage for the first time in 16 years. This easing of restrictions will be enabled by the introduction of new scanners, which will allow airport security to inspect luggage through 3D images. A much faster method that would also reduce waiting times at security checks.
The new technology is already being tested in Heathrow and Gatwick and is expected to be applied at major airports in the UK by mid-2024. With the new scanners, travellers no longer have to put liquids in transparent plastic containers. It is clear that we will have to wait until the measure comes into force, and until then the current rule on liquids applies.
Despite the removal of this ban, certain restrictions on hand baggage will remain in force, such as the ban on carrying sharp objects and lighters.
